INDIANA SOLAR FARM CONSTRUCTION
Despite the world slowing down during the pandemic, many have pushed prospective plans of sustainable production and construction to the forefront. A recent Reasons To Be Cheerful story shared news on the $242 million construction plan of Indiana’s largest solar panel park. The plan involves thousands of photovoltaic panels covering nearly 1,400 acres of rural land to power 36,000 homes with clean electricity. County legislators took it one step further, requiring the planting of pollinator-friendly plants, such as wildflowers and clover, in addition to native grasses. It was the first such requirement in Indiana’s state history and ensures the solar panel park will benefit the land it is situated on, which is a different approach from historical solar farms constructions. A sure sign of a brighter future.
